AHHB Veterinarians treat pets with common
eye diseases and injuries. Like people, pets can develop
glaucoma, a disease where increased fluid pressure in the eye
leads to a progressive loss of vision and may cause blindness.
Certain breeds of dogs and cats have a higher likelihood of
developing glaucoma. Check to see if your dog or cat is predisposed
to glaucoma.
By having your pet tested annually with
an instrument called a Tono-Pen, the early warning signs of glaucoma
may be detected.
When pets have more complicated eye
problems such as cataracts or retinal disease we will call-in or
refer you to a board certified veterinary opthalmologist or "eye
specialist".
Veterinary Opthalmologist, Dr. Paul Jackson works with AHHB veterinarians on a rabbit's eye.
