“The physician’s assistants of veterinary medicine”
The Veterinary Technician’s duties include everything from x-rays to cleaning cages. Our Technicians perform the work of a dental hygienist, cleaning pets’ teeth; they take and develop x-rays, take care of all hospitalized pets and administer medications. They also prep animals for surgery, which includes placing I.V. catheters, running an ECG to check the heart of the patient and monitoring the anesthetic during a procedure. They also are responsible for post-op care of all patients.
Our staff also plays a key role in the education of our clients. Our Technician’s attend continuing education courses every year to stay up to date on the latest procedures and products available. We ensure that all our clients are aware of things such as the flea control products available today and other products or services that may be beneficial for the health of their pet.
The AHHB is proud to be part of the Coastline Regional Occupational Program. Students of the Coastline ROP volunteer at the AHHB for work experience.
Also, several AHHB employees are enrolled in the Professional Veterinary Assistant School to become Registered Veterinarian Technicians.
It is our goal to provide the loving care your pet deserves when here with us!
